Aurora Pagano

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Aurora Pagano is a Toronto-based artist, curator, and arts educator whose work blends storytelling, cultural memory, and visual exploration into a practice that is both deeply personal and widely resonant.

For over two decades, she has shaped the city’s artistic landscape through exhibitions, community projects, and educational programs that invite people to slow down, feel deeply, and reconnect with their own sense of meaning. Her work examines the human impulse to search, to belong, and to make sense of shared histories-often through layered, interdisciplinary media that blur the boundaries between painting, installation, and interactive experience.

As an artistic director and curator, Aurora has led local, national, and international initiatives that bring communities together through immersive, narrative-driven exhibitions. Her curatorial approach celebrates cultural identity while challenging expectations, often pairing visual art with music, performance, and collaborative storytelling.

Through her collective, Friends in Art, she mentors emerging artists, fosters creative dialogue, and cultivates spaces where art becomes a catalyst for connection and community.

Aurora’s studio work has been widely exhibited, including The Quiet Immigrant-an interactive installation reflecting the post-WWII journeys of Italian women to Canada-as well as projects exploring environmental wonder, human motivation, and the poetry of memory. Her pieces appear in private and public collections across Canada, the United States, Italy, and India, and have been featured in various publications and media outlets.

Across all she creates-whether a painting, a curated exhibition, or a youth mentorship project, Aurora remains guided by one purpose: to use art to spark reflection, inspire connection, and bring people
closer to themselves and to each other.
